The Baraboo Children’s Museum is a popular place not only for families, but for field trips and large gatherings as well!

To receive a group rate, approval must be obtained at least 48 hours prior to the date of entry to ensure proper staffing.

Groups arriving without approval will be required to pay full price for all guests.

Nonprofit Organizations and Field Trips

All field trips must be booked through the form listed below

• School and nonprofit field trips are available for groups of 20 or more students at a discounted rate of $5 per student. Memberships cannot be applied to field trips.

• Groups of up to 30 children may schedule field trips during regular museum hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Groups of more than 30 children are required to schedule field trips on Tuesday or Thursday, when the museum is normally closed to the public.

• Field trips are booked in 2-hour time slots. Additional time may be added for $50 per hour.

• Field trips scheduled on Tuesday or Thursday require a $200 non-refundable deposit and are subject to a $200 minimum fee regardless of attendance. This fee reserves private access to the museum and covers staffing and opening costs. This minimum fee is not refundable and is not reduced if fewer than 40 students attend. Groups with more than 40 students will be charged the regular $5/student rate for each additional student beyond 40.

• We require a minimum of one adult chaperone for every five children. As long as the required number of chaperones are present, there is no charge for chaperones. A $25 fee will be charged for each missing chaperone.

• Field trips scheduled outside standard operating hours (9am–5pm) are subject to private museum rental rates.

• The museum reserves the right to charge for broken or missing exhibit pieces resulting from lack of supervision or improper use during the field trip.

Food/Dining

We do have a room for snacks or lunches that can be used as long as the room is not being used for another activity such as a party or special event. This room can seat approximately 35 people at a time.

We have a refrigerator that can accommodate a limited amount of items and a standard sized microwave to warm items up.

3. Fill out form

4. Await approval email. If booking for a Tuesday or Thursday, approval email will contain payment link for deposit.

5. If booking for Tuesday or Thursday, field trip will not be booked until deposit has been paid.

6. Balance for field trips will be due at the start of your field trip.
