Why the Baraboo Children’s Museum?

We get it: there are a LOT of nonprofits out there who could use your donation. So why do we think that we’re more deserving? Well, the easy answer is that we don’t. There are many deserving charities with wonderful causes that need funding and we applaud them for their efforts! But the fact of the matter is, we can’t provide what we do if we can’t pay the bills. We do everything that we can to keep our costs as low as possible so that we can offer a fun and educational space at an affordable price for as many people as possible.

What am I funding?

Want to make a donation but need to know where the funds are going? We’re super transparent! Our standard monthly expenditures are rent, salary, utilities, cleaning supplies, maintenance items, replacement and new items, upgrades, and miscellaneous pieces for things like birthday parties, events, and programming.

When you donate to the Baraboo Children’s Museum, your money goes directly into keeping the doors of the museum open for the community. Your funds could go toward new uniforms to replace uniforms that can no longer be fixed in the fire station or maybe toward an order for art supplies, or turtle food for the turtles. You could be funding supplies for an upcoming baking class or story time.

Our short term goals include new exhibit pieces and relevant programming. Our long term goals involve a space that fits the museum’s and community’s needs better. A space with green outdoor space, programming room, party area, and more.

All donations are pooled together, so they can add up quickly with a large number of supporters.
